South Bay Regional Occupational Center
We are pleased to announce a new community partnership with the South Bay Regional Occupational Center, widely known as SoCalROC. As an employer that relies on highly skilled professionals in the trades, we recognize the critical role that vocational education and hands-on training play in developing a strong and capable workforce.
Through this collaboration, we are proud to support SoCalROC’s mission of preparing students with the technical skills and real-world experience needed to succeed in today’s competitive job market. We are also honored to introduce SoCalROC’s Superintendent, Dr. Julian Rodriguez, whose leadership continues to advance innovative career education opportunities for students across the region.
From time to time, we invite community partners to use space in our newsletter to share information about their services with readers. In this edition, we have Julian A. Rodriguez, Ed.D, Superintendent of Southern California Regional Occupational Center (SoCal ROC).
The Southern California Regional Occupational Center (SoCal ROC) has been preparing South Bay students and adult learners for rewarding careers for nearly six decades. As workforce needs continue to evolve, SoCal ROC is expanding opportunities for individuals at every stage of life—from high school students exploring career pathways to adults seeking new skills, industry certifications, or a career change. Our hands-on programs connect education with real workforce needs through partnerships with employers across healthcare, skilled trades, transportation, public safety, and consumer service industries.
We are currently enrolling students in select summer courses and are now accepting applications for our upcoming fall programs. Whether you’re looking to launch a career, gain new skills, or advance in your current profession, there’s never been a better time to explore career technical education.
We also welcome employers interested in partnering with us—like Torrance Refining Company—to help develop the skilled workforce our region depends on.
