On Tuesday, March 27, 2018, Torrance Refining Company LLC (TORC) welcomed students from the Southern California Regional Occupation Center (SoCal ROC) to the Torrance Refinery. The students, who are enrolled in an engineering course at SoCal ROC, began their visit meeting with Torrance Refinery Engineers Roddy Posada and Jessica Demeyer, who spoke about their academic career choices and the paths that led them to their engineering careers. After the discussions, the students watched a safety video and toured the plant.

SoCal ROC is part of the public school system and provides Career Technical Education (CTE) programs to high schools students as well as adults in the South Bay and surrounding communities.
