Refinery Fire Chief Joe Alvarez provides words of appreciation.
Torrance Refining Company LLC (TORC) sponsored the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Torrance Police Department Awards and Appreciation Luncheon. The event was held in March at the Toyota Meeting Hall in the Torrance Cultural Arts Center to honor the brave officers of the Torrance Police Department who distinguished themselves through outstanding performance above and beyond the call of duty and/or standard job responsibilities, while serving in an official or unofficial capacity.
Award-winning journalist Emmett Miller, who spent eleven years with KTLA 5 in Los Angeles, served as Master of Ceremonies. Torrance Refinery Fire Chief Joe Alvarez, a member of the Chamber’s “Leadership Torrance” class of 2018, presented Miller with a gift of appreciation on behalf of the Torrance Chamber.
