Torrance Refinery is considered one of Torrance’s longest standing businesses. As such, its owner and operator Torrance Refining Company LLC (TORC) recognizes the important role it plays in the community and makes investments supporting local nonprofits that provide meaningful and valuable community services to the public.

By supporting partners like the South Coast Botanic Garden, TORC helps to provide opportunities where community members can experience nature, fostering an appreciation for our environment while promoting learning in the areas of science, technology, engineering, arts and math.

This summer, TORC is a proud sponsor of the South Coast Botanic Garden exhibit – SOAR. SOAR offers visitors an immersive experience that helps people discover the fascinating life of tropical butterflies. Guests step into the Host and Nectar Garden to explore up close the butterfly’s habitat and learn about their different stages of development and interact with these beautiful creatures.

As garden guests observe these colorful creatures, visitors unwittingly engage in a scientific activity while they connect with nature in a unique way.

“Thank you. The Garden impacted me beyond what I can describe. In many ways, it saved me. And I am so grateful for it. Never underestimate the work you do. The Garden is truly my favorite place to be,” shared Irma Vazquez during her recent visit.

TORC is happy to help bring this exhibit to life for community members and encourages the public to visit South Coast Botanic Garden to reap the benefits of time spent in nature. SOAR Exhibits is open until July 31st. For more information, click here.
