Steve Giffin presents donation to FOMM President Suzan Hubert.

In January, Torrance Refinery Maintenance Superintendent Steve Giffin presented a $2,500 donation to the “Friends of Madrona Marsh” (FOMM). The donation brings the total amount of financial support the refinery has provided to the Marsh since 2000 to almost $100,000. Steve volunteers his personal time to serve on the FOMM Board of Directors, a position he has held for five years.

FOMM is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, education and aesthetics of the Madrona Marsh Preserve. Located in Torrance, Madrona Marsh is thought to be one of the last remaining vernal marshes

in Los Angeles County. The preserve is also an educational and recreational resource, with staff and volunteers offering nature walks, tours, bird watching, and other activities to the public.
