Did you know a single car accident victim can require as many as 100 units of blood? With that astounding fact in mind, the Torrance Refinery hosted a Summer Blood Drive in partnership with UCLA Health to help replenish local blood supplies to address the blood shortage hospitals and blood banks are experiencing.
Torrance employees and contract partners gave “the gift of life” by donating 24 pints of blood, which is one of the larger and more successful blood drives held over the past several months, according to UCLA’s Blood Drive coordinator.
