Torrance Refining Company LLC Celebrates 5 Years in Torrance

Torrance, Calif. – Torrance Refining Company LLC (TORC), a wholly owned subsidiary of PBF Energy
(“PBF”), one of the largest independent petroleum refiners and suppliers of unbranded transportation fuels,
heating oil, petrochemical feedstocks, lubricants and other petroleum products in the United States, is proud
to announce the Fifth Anniversary of its ownership of the Torrance Refinery and Southern California
Western Region logistics assets.

Refinery Manager Steven Steach remarked, “Five years ago, PBF saw Torrance Refinery’s potential and
was excited to acquire the plant because of the high caliber of employees and the potential for Torrance to
become one of the best refineries on the West Coast and in the PBF family.”

Since 1929, Torrance Refinery has proudly manufactured and distributed quality energy products that
helped fuel economic growth for Californians, while providing higher standards of living and mobility for all.
This was especially true during the past 16 months when the COVID-19 pandemic caused crippling effects
on the regional economy, while merchant refiners like PBF dealt with demand destruction for their products.
We remained singularly focused on working safely, while maintaining reliable, environmentally responsible
operations.

We understood then, and remain committed today, to operating our facilities in a manner that earns us the
right to operate in our host communities. “Today, our Southern California western region employees celebrate the
remarkable milestones we have achieved, such as our historical best and award-winning safety, reliability
and environmental records, which were achieved through the dedication of our highly-skilled employees,”
said Steach.

In celebration of this momentous milestone and in keeping with the company’s doctrine to be a valued
member of the communities that host its operations, the Torrance Refining Company LLC made a special
$10,000 donation to support the City of Torrance’s Fallen Fruit Art Installation and Tree Planting project at
Lago Seco Park. The City purchased 17 citrus and stone fruit trees, soil, mulch, fertilizer, and irrigation
materials with the funds, and will purchase interpretive panels for the project.

Additionally, TORC will make four $5,000 donations to the city and local South Bay nonprofits in support of
public safety, health, education and vocational training and literacy.

The Torrance Refining Company’s Fifth Anniversary donation recipients are:

  • Torrance Art Museum
  • Torrance Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
  • Sharefest Community Development, Inc.
  • Strength Based Community Change (SBCC) Energy Pathways Program
  • City of Torrance Katy Geissert Library

About Torrance Refining Company LLC
TORC is the owner-operator of the Torrance Refinery, located in Torrance, California. The company is proud of its mission to fuel
California by processing a blend of primarily heavy and medium crude oils to manufacture a high-value product slate that includes
cleaner-burning CARB gasoline and other products that play an essential role critical to California’s economy, making modern life
possible. The refinery has a nameplate crude capacity of 166,000 barrels per day. The refinery receives its crude oil primarily though
a direct pipeline connection to California’s Central Valley, and also has access to waterborne feedstocks through the Ports of Los
Angeles and Long Beach. The refinery produces approximately 1.8 billion gallons of gasoline per year, which represents approximately
10% of the motorist’s demand in California. In addition to blending three grades of gasoline, the refinery produces marine and jet fuels,
liquified petroleum gases (LPGs), coke and sulfur. The refinery ships products to customers through a series of proprietary pipelines
and terminals throughout the region via truck, rail, barges, and ships.
