Over the years, Torrance Refining Company (“TORC”) has built partnerships with more than 45 civic and nonprofit organizations that address different needs in the community. TORC considers supporting its community partners as one way to bridge gaps, enabling nonprofits to provide vital services that help improve the quality of life of those they serve. As the community evolves, TORC strives to be responsive and looks for new partners who respond to needs that arise. This year, we welcome our newest community partner – Caring House.

Caring House is the first and only nonprofit, home-based setting in Los Angeles County completely focused on helping residents and their families through the end-of-life journey. Recent tragedies caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the struggles of families affected by it re-emphasized the importance of services provided by Caring House. Through its support, TORC hopes to help families ease the burden of caregiving duties enabling them to simply spend precious quality time with their loved ones in the comfort of a home.

Caring House offers a team of dedicated staff and volunteers providing compassionate and supportive care to its residents in a calm and tranquil “home” environment where residents can spend their last days with peace and dignity

As a nonprofit organization, if a resident/family cannot afford the full cost of care, they are simply asked to pay to the best of their ability. Consequently, Caring House raises funds to continue to offer this peaceful space without placing additional financial burdens on families.

To help this one-of-a-kind home support its residents and their families, please consider supporting its fundraising event. See details below for “Team Caring House Triathlon Celebration.” To learn more about Caring House, visit https://yourcaringhouse.org/.
