Torrance, Calif. – Torrance Refining Company LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of PBF Energy, is proud to announce the appointment of Jared Wimberley as the new Refinery Manager for its Torrance Refinery, which officially took effect on June 2, 2025.
“It’s exciting to welcome a professional of Jared’s caliber to lead our refinery,” said Barbara Graham, Community Relations manager at Torrance Refinery. “His extensive expertise in refining and strong leadership will help foster growth opportunities for our employees, while driving continued operational excellence across our organization.”
Over the past 27 years, Wimberley has worked across the nation in the oil & gas industry, rising through a series of manufacturing, engineering and management positions with Exxon, ExxonMobil and PBF Energy. He began his refining career with Exxon at its Baton Rouge, Louisiana, refinery where he progressed through several Operations roles before moving into management. At PBF, Wimberley has held the positions of Maintenance manager, Economics & Planning manager, Operations manager, and Refinery manager at PBF’s Chalmette, Louisiana, refinery before assuming his current role of Torrance Refinery manager.
A native of Church Point, Louisiana, Wimberley earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University.
Having previously held key leadership roles at Torrance Refinery from 2014 to 2017, Wimberley is excited about the opportunity to return to the South Bay to lead the Torrance Refinery team. Wimberley assumes the position after Sara Wilson, who served as Torrance Refinery manager since September 2023. Sara Wilson is leaving California to become Senior Director, Process Development, to lead business improvement initiative efforts and help develop strategic projects across PBF Energy’s refining system in the U.S.
